@lyokotravels Most things don't age well beyond a certain point. Fruits, vegetables, one's own body....

Disney always make films that are perfect. Like Song of the South, Black Cauldron, The Wild, Planes, Chicken Little, and Home on the Range, and many more.

@scribus As any good cryptid should be. A hideous creepy crawler that "explains" a bad thing in life and that multiplies itself by inflicting more of the bad thing.
-
@scribus I'd imagine more a creature that affects people/corporations to become greedy with ambitions that results in vaporware. I imagine a millipede and snake hybrid (tail end rattle snake, body millipede, head snake with fangs) with large bug antennae with floofy balls at the ends. The cryptid uses the floofy balls to distract the victim and hide its hideous body and then bits the victim at the back of the head. The fangs inject some kind of venom that causes the feature creep/greed, which itself causes headaches and frustration. That is the nourishment it needs to asexually reproduce itself and affect others in the company.

@scribus I perceived the season more on the meh side. As much I appreciate the layoff narrative and commentary I think that the season was a little bit all over the place. The aftermath of the idol career was extremely side-lined and Retsuko's relationship plot with Haida was weirdly piecemealed. The rest was fine.

I did yet again a 1200km trip but this time it was in a day. Total time behind the steering wheel: 12.5 hours

I got my third vaccine shot. This time it was the Moderna stuff.

@scribus I have the same feeling about oven-baked potato fries where 1/3 is about to get turned into charcoal, 1/3 is good, and the last 1/3 is barely done and the opposite of crispy.

I thought I had to buy a new bike front light last time I used it as the light refused to emit photons. It turned out the plug to the hub dynamo came loose. I wouldn't mind changing the front light that is brighter but I'm not throwing away a good component. I use the light during the day to increase my visibility. A brighter light would probably be overkill as the current one is plenty bright. The only feature I'd like to have is a "parking light" feature for the front light, so the front light emits (half as bright) light while standing at the traffic lights.

@scribus I'm not enthused. I wasn't happy with Merkel, at least she tried not to F-up everything. I'm not seeing that the replacement is going to be remotely good. Christian Democrats are here the right wing conservatives, and don't share much with my political ideology. I'm more left-leaning and a Pirate Party voter. At least I can say that I didn't vote for the dumbasses that are in power.
-
It's not that Germany has also its fair share of dumbass politicians *sigh*

@zeldatra For a country that celebrates freedom it's so sad that it kicks an essential pillar of democracy, that can give a lot of freedoms, to the ground because a minority is power-hungry and restricts these freedoms for their own gain.

Dramatically redrawing voting district borders after every election is insane.

I cringe a little when my less English-proficient colleagues write "dayli" for our SCRUM daily meeting.

@scribus I tried some anti-transpiration sprays and they mostly fail. Also I would need to cover my whole body with that stuff and it ain't worth it. Luckily I'm not a "stinker" and it gets all back to normal after half an hour.

I have to wait until snow stays on the bike paths and I'll re-evaluate my opinion.

Winter cycling is not as bad as I thought. In Summer I sweat excessively after I come home cycling. It's not the case on colder days, or it is less severe. Only the cold air is hard on my lungs but wearing a mask delays the problems a bit as I re-inhale warmer air.

@scribus If I played and would win then I were content with just a normal-sized house. Nothing fancy, which leaves more money to buy cool stuff. My house would need only a big enough space for a library for my current and future comics collection size.

A channel I can recommend is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3bosUr3WlKYm4sBaLs-Adw This guy has a huge collection of vintage computers and attempts to repair them. In the recent year he had also quite some videos about devices from the Apollo space program.

@scribus I wasted so much time at the border in my life. Once we were stuck 24h. A Game Boy can only do so much.
-
@scribus Well... My grandparents live 600km away. During these times I don't want that my mother uses a train, and I could see my grandparents as I haven't seen them for quite a while.
In the past my family drove to my grandparents 4 times a year and it took us 8 to 10 hours (slower car, border passing, crappier roads). -
I drove about 1200km (745 miles) this weekend. I visited my grandparents and picked up my mother back home. I drove most of the time 150km/h (93 mph) and needed only 5 hours for each direction. I'm somewhat exhausted.

I've officially spent more on upgrades for my folding bike than I paid for the used folding bike. At least the front light kicks ass with the hub dynamo. The light is blindingly bright in comparison to what I'm used to.

It's really depressing to see the infection rate rising so fast. In average Germany has about 300 infections per 100000 people in a week. Some districts have a rate of 1200 per 100000 in a week. Just WTF man. I live where it's way lower than average but still freaky. https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/478220a4c454480e823b17327b2bf1d4
