  4. @drinkingpony It has a few gruesome images but in no way glorifying. It is "real". I mean the pictures shown are mostly in photos that are in a file. The kind of photos the police has to make on a crime site. The kind of horror you derive from the abnormality of the views of the interviewed serial killers is on you. But for the most part it is not of the horror genre. It's a crime thriller on the surface.

  5. @drinkingpony *deep inhale* The series is about two FBI agents in the late 70's starting to investigate psychological profiles of serial killers in order to look into other serial murders that happen at the time. It has excellent character portrayals from everyone.

  8. At work I'm implementing the interaction with a cordless screwdriver in VR (and with screws, screwdriver bits, and screw holes). I thought I'd be done in a week, however it takes longer than anticipated to make it versatile and not error prone and usable in VR and usable in code. It's the third week and it's not done. I'm about 70% done.

  9. @thismightbeauser the car I drove was a Mercedes Sprinter. It was fairly OK to drive but in tight curves I occasionally touched the curb with the rear tyre.

  10. @drinkingpony I have access to an industrial shop vac but it is way too strong and loud. It will suck out everything off the table.

  11. @drinkingpony with "vacuum " I mean vacuum cleaner, the household device. I was sloppy with my language

  12. @drinkingpony I don't want my CNC in a vacuum. There would be no pressure difference to suck out the shavings. Also the motors would heat up.

  13. I'm gonna 3D print a cyclone filter and it'll take about 3 days and about 500g PETG plastic. Oh boy. I hope nothing fails during that time. That filter will be a pre-filter for my vacuum in order to get my CNC shavings there before it gets into my vacuum. I'll plan to cut mostly wood and acrylic which will most likely not damage anything but it'll be a safety guard. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2829268

  16. @scribus Both series have a similar theme and premise and they achieve almost the same mood, yet they are different and unique nonetheless.

  17. @drinkingpony It is a mini series that aired on Cartoon Network. It's about two boys (two brothers) who are transported into a weird and eerie old-time-ish fantastical world in the woods and they try to get back home. It's only 10 episodes long, so it's worth a binge.

  18. The latest couple of Infinity Train episodes were super great! I am astounded by how good they were. The series as a whole gives me strong "Over The Garden Wall" vibes.

  19. Yesterday I helped moving my friends. The whole moving operation hinged on me because I am the only one with enough driving experience to drive a transporter. Also the whole thing was done until midnight. And now I have yet one of those days where I had only 4 hours of sleep.

  26. I've been scolded for not taking a vacation and working on the project instead (while most people and my project supervisor had a semi-forced vacation by the company). All I wanted to do is to work as much as possible in peace and quiet before the deadline (not yet determined) will crush me. I had already a rough outline of what's required and I could work nonetheless. I'd wager that I achieved more during the time than I could if everyone were there and disturbing my concentration. I cleaned up my code, I documented it, I added a lot more functionality and I researched how to use a library that I will need to use and semi-achieved a clean interface for a rather complicated interaction in VR for the current project. I could do a hack-job in less time in stress but I'd definitely bite me into my ass in the end. The project supervisor doesn't want to see that far.

  27. "Twelve Forever" on Netflix is weird. Disturbingly weird at some moments. It's a fever dream of puberty, repressed feelings and nonsense with a cute-ish childish filter on top with a lot of extra nonsense on top. I can barely recommend it.
